PEOPLE TO NOTIFY DURING A MOVE

As part of our customer service, here is a handy list of people you should notify when moving house:
• Taxation office (within 7 days)
• Roads and Transport Authority (within 7 days) – licence and vehicle registrations
• Government Departments - Family allowance, Superannuation,
• Pensions
• Insurance companies - life insurance, cars, home and contents, and any other insured items.
• Employers - Group Certificates, Superannuation Fund
• Australia Post - mail can be redirected for up to 12 months
• Telephone – home phone and internet services (contact at least 7 days before moving)
• Mobile phone provider
• Electricity Supplier
• Water Authority
• Gas Supplier – if you don’t cancel you will continue to be charged.
• Solicitor
• Schools
• Automobile associations such as NRMA, RACQ etc.
• Rental and hire purchase companies
• Bank and financial institutions - accounts and credit cards
• Accountants, financial planners and other professional services you use
• Doctor, Dentist and Private Health Funds
• Electoral Roles (within 4 weeks)
• Sporting clubs and other associations where you have memberships
• Subscriptions – magazines or other service providers
• Newsagent – cancel or readdress your newspaper deliveries
Suggestion: May we suggest that you leave a nice card for the next home occupier, indicating that you have redirected you mail but if Australia Post happens to “slip up”, you would appreciate it if they forwarded your mail……and don’t forget to leave them your new address!
